Update and Audiobook Giveaway

I’m never quite sure where the time goes. How can it already be July? How can it be two months since I’ve last posted? At this rate, the summer will be over before I know it. I’m going to blame my absentmindedness on the fact I’ve been hunkered down working on my next project in my off hours. Yeah, that’s it.

Next up is a romantic suspense novel about a man who returns to his small town roots to visit his dying estranged father, only to find the feelings he once had for his best friend, and the boy he left behind, reawakened. He is also caught up in a twenty-year old mystery that could end his budding relationship before it even begins. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m hoping to wrap it up in the next couple of months. I’m happy to report I’ve already signed a contract with Riptide for this one and that it will be out in spring 2017.

Until September in audiobook – giveaway

audiobookUntil September came out in audiobook last month. To celebrate, I have an Audible promo code for a free copy to give away (Note: this is only good for Audible.com).  To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. The topic is audiobooks. Tell me why you like audiobooks. What’s your favourite/ most memorable? How big a role does the narrator play for you? What killed an audiobook for you?

The giveaway will be open until the end of July. I will draw a random winner on August 1. Don’t forget to put your email address when you post so I can contact you.

  1. I love audiobooks! My dear sweet soulmate made me finally get a smartphone because I literally wore out my old flip phone. I don’t text. I don’t like talking on the phone. I have a hard time hearing, and I’m a bit slow in the finger work it take to text. But my new smartphone does audiobooks! I am embarrassed to say that is what my phone get used mostly for…..lol. I look for awesome deals, and have built a little library at Audible. I am in heaven. I listen to them when I’m working when I am the only one there for the first 4 hours of the day. it makes the day go faster, and I can laugh like a loon during the funny one and no one cares.
I have Until September on my gotta have list, and would love to listen to it as well.
Thank you for the giveaway! Wishing you the best & continued success!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂 I confess I’m still getting used to audiobooks but I know plenty of folks like you who love listening to them on their phones, especially while working out or commuting.

I totally love a great audiobook. Whenever there’s a time when my hands and eyes are occupied but my mind is free, I love the chance to get some reading in. Definitely while driving or working out but also doing chores. I got an audible account about a year and a half ago and some of the books have made me fall even more deeply in love with a story I was absolutely sure I couldn’t love more. I really tend to read (I like to say read and not listen because if that was the only way i could read a book, that’s what I’d be saying) ones I’ve already experienced in text because I want to come at the story in a new way, but I am still buying (because audible has great sales) new ones to me. I’m a fan of the dramatic reading, where a narrator brings not only the emotion but also different character voices, like I’m listening to a radio play, but I’ve heard some great ones where there’s not so much of a distinction in voices and the emotion is subtler. I just love stories, so I’ll take them in whatever form I can!

By the way, I adored Until September, so it’s a real treat to have a chance to win it in audiobook! 😀 I bought Inseparable and listened to the whole thing even though there was a glitch (which I did let dreamspinner know about) where it jumped a section. I was hoping When Adam Kissed Me would be added sometime, too. I know authors don’t control all that, but I know I’ve told you before how much I loved those stories, and just all your writing really. I always look forward to more from you!

Never tried an audiobook so I have no experience to leave in this post but I would imagine that the narrator could kill a story if the person is not what the listener can enjoy listening to for hours. But being a fan of your books *suck-up* I’m putting my card in the hat and saying thank you for the giveaway 🙂

Thanks Lena 🙂 I think Michael did a pretty good job with narrating the audio book, although it’s kind of uncomfortable for me to listen to my own words.

      • Lena says:

I would imagine it being difficult to listen to your own words because you probably have a voice in your head for your MCs and the narrator will never be able to match that but I’m sure Micheal gave your book it’s respect 🙂

I love audiobooks. I only get the ones from my favorite books and I have been hoping I would be able to get one of my favorite books, Until September on audio. Awesome!

  5. PrinC says:

I’m not familiar all that with audiobooks, but I’d love to hear this one play out 🙂

I’ve been trying audio books and have really enjoyed them. I think the narrator is really important to me, since their style to the character and voices really is key to me. Of course, the story is very important to me too.

  7. Dee Slate says:

For me, audiobooks are the best way I can immerse myself in a story. When the narrator is good, he/she makes a good story great or a great story brilliant.
By the way, Inseparable was great 🙂 Cheers!

  8. Heather Martin says:

I’m new to audiobooks but love that they let me read at times I otherwise couldn’t. I love to listen to them in the car and have even found they’re great for distracting me when I need to go for a walk.
